Dr. Diana Nsubuga
Professor Diana Nambatya Nsubuga is a renowned farmer and public health professional who has received international recognition from the TIAW World of Difference, American ExpressNGen and Private Sector Foundation Uganda for her work combating food and nutrition insecurity.
Diana is deeply passionate about women and youth empowerment and has to date skilled more than 1000 in agricultural entrepreneurship with a focus on urban farming. She has previously worked with the Global Health Corps where she helped to build the leadership capacities of young health equity professionals in order to strengthen health systems. Prof. Diana is the Africa deputy regional director at Living Goods and has nearly 15 years’ experience in public health including health system strengthening and community health programming in Uganda, Ethiopia and 10 African countries and has developed partnerships with more than 40 organizations.
She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in science in population studies from Makerere University Kamapala, a PhD in public health focusing on maternal, neonatal and child health from Atlantic .I. University and a post-graduate diploma in project planning and management from Uganda Management Institute.
Ms. Ritah Kazinga
Ms. Ritah Kazinga is an advisory board member whose guidance has seen us keep abreast of agricultural innovations. In her role, she ensures that the farm is employing appropriate extension models in order to deliver sustained impact.
Ritah is a specialist in good agricultural practices, agricultural innovation and agricultural systems. She also has more than 13 years’ experience in rural community mobilization.
Dr. Fred Nsubuga
Dr. Fred Nsubuga is a medical doctor by profession with more than 15 years of experience working with government and non-government entities to improve the healthcare of Ugandans, particularly the most vulnerable, including women and children. He is a family planning champion and is the current head of Social Franchise at Marie Stopes Uganda.
Dr. Fred has a deep appreciation of the nexus between nutrition and health and seeks to support families to realize nutrition and food security by utilizing the resources that they have at hand.
Ms. Nakiganda Dorcus
Advisory Board Chair
Ms. Nakiganda is a certified management advisor and at Kwagala Farm she helps us understand our performance in regard to set targets and national and international standards. She utilizes farm data including crop and animal yields to understand what is working and what is not.
She also ensures that farm processes are in alignment with trends and is responsible for conducting regular trainings on farming techniques, business management and new regulations.
